The kitchens! He'd been told about it by a friend of his in his fifth year, and since then, he went down there at least twice a week to get a snack between lunch and dinner. He liked it in the kitchen, the smell of all the food was mouthwatering and all the house elves were so sweet and funny. Jack had been heading there himself, but as he was blind, he couldn't quite tell exactly where he was going.
That's what the problem with the dungeons were. They all just felt the same. Usually, Jack could tell where he was in the dungeons more or less by how cold he felt. The colder he felt, the deeper underground he was and he would change direction. Today however, he'd taken a few wrong turns and was now, lost. It wouldn't take long to return to the Entrance Hall, the only thing he had to do was put one hand along a wall and stick to that same wall, which ever way it turned.
He sniffed the air, rather like a dog and to his relief, found that he could smell fresh air. That meant he was in a main corridor that lead back to the Entrance Hall. He stood still, tapping his feet against the ground a few times in thought, something he was prone to doing whenever he was thinking hard. Now that he'd gotten his bearings, he knew which way it was to the Kitchens, and even, a shortcut!
He set off in that direction and pushed his way in between two narrow passages, only wide enough for one person to go through at a time. He walked along it happily as he emerged from the other side, his shoes alerted him to someone nearby. He couldn't tell who it was, male or female. He sniffed the air and caught the unmistakable scent of mint. It didn't have that smell of real mint, like from candy or from fresh leaves and so, he could only guess that it was some sort of product. And that meant ......
"Hello Skeeter." He grumbled, for she'd certainly seen him. Dammit all.
