Juliet was out in the courtyard reading a book that she managed to grab from her bookshelf at home. She's quite happy that she did sneak this book in her bag. It's one of her favorite novels that she read over and over again. She can probably recite some of the lines that the main characters exchange throughout the book. This book has made her laugh, cry, and angry. That's what she likes about reading novels. She can get lost in the world the author created, and feel the emotions of what the characters are feeling. At least she's giving herself a break from studying. Juliet was probably in the library for hours, trying to understand how Potions work and how to brew them.
For some reason, the Ravenclaw sucks at brewing Potions. She knows the facts and everything but brewing something, that's a different story. She puts in the amount that the book says but the Potion still comes out wrong. No matter how hard she tries Potion making was not her thing. Sometimes she wonders if it is because she's a muggle born. It seems like the rest of the students have no problem, but her. Juliet sighed as she closed her book and put it back into her bag. Maybe she should ask the Professor. Juliet shook her head at that thought. No he has favorites... I don't even want to know what his answer will be. Juliet thought as she looked through her bag for her Potions book. She read the procedure on how to make the potion that her class will be brewing, at least a million times. Hopefully she'll do well.
The steps don't seem that complicated. Of course the ingredients for it are, but besides that there's nothing that seems to hard. Maybe the waiting time, but she can deal with that. Potions is like cooking, or chemistry. Juliet remembered all her friends complaining about Chemistry when she was home for the holidays. Most of her friends don't know that she goes to a school for wizards and witches. They probably don't even think such things exist anymore. She looked at the chemistry text book that her friends had, and it didn't look that hard to understand. The only thing is the tedious math that is involved with chemistry.
Juliet closed the Potions book hard, and just carelessly put it into her bag. I don't want to think about Potions right now. She thought as she laid down on the bench, to look up at the overcast sky.

Classes and Quidditch seemed to be all Rae had been doing lately. Go to class, do some school work, eat something, practice, eat something again and then more schoolwork. She didn’t mind it except it was her last year at Hogwarts and she wanted to get out more. Spend more time with friends, both who were graduating and not graduating. There were also parties she wanted to go to but so far her weekends were spent sleeping in because she was already up all night doing work and then doing more schoolwork. Rae wanted to work with dragons! Where did all this work come from? All she needed was good luck and quick feet. She was pretty sure she could work with dragons now if she really wanted to or could. Looking up at the sky as she walked through the courtyard she dreamed that she was flying. A broom would be good but a dragon would be even better.
As she walked she smiled at the students she knew and even ones she didn’t. Rae was always all smiles when she was thinking about her future outside of Hogwarts. Yet as she walked by, she caught a glimpse of one of her close friends taking up most of a bench. Schoolwork could wait, she thought as she made her way over to Juliet who also seemed to be putting off work. “Hey there sunshine,” she said standing over Juliet so the young Ravenclaw saw her face instead of the sky. Carissa hoped she didn’t scare the Ravenclaw. Yet she was in such a good mood that hopefully Juliet was up for a conversation. When Rae made friends, she made them for life. Or however long the friendship last. She liked keeping a wide range of friends and only had a few close friends. Juliet was one of those close friends mostly because they had an almost sisterly relationship.
“What are you thinking about?” she asked Juliet as she stepped back waiting for her friend to either sit up so there was room for Rae to sit or remain laying. If that was the case, Rae would just pick up her legs, sit down and have her legs across her lap. While looking around, Carissa saw many other students socializing and studying outside. That was one thing Rae was never able to do, study outside. She always got distracted by something or someone. Even though in the Hufflepuff common room Rae got distracted by just about everyone. Truth be told, Rae really couldn’t study anywhere because she got distracted by a lot of things. Library, the books flying around always amused her. Rae knew that was bad and that she should put more effort into trying harder but oh well. She made it this far, she was sure she could last a few more months.

It looks like it's about to rain. She doesn't remember if the Daily Prophet said it would or not, but hopefully it doesn't. Juliet wants to stay outside for a bit. She needs more fresh air than she thought she needed today. Juliet likes the sound of rain. The Ravenclaw likes the sound of water pouring down, and the sound of it pitter pattering on the window. Juliet fell asleep to the sound of rain when she was still in the orphanage. It helped her fall asleep whenever she was too scared to. Maybe it will rain later tonight. She might need some help falling asleep, because Potions is already stressing her out.
Instead of seeing the dark clouds, she saw one of her close friend's friendly face above her. Juliet smiled, glad to see Carissa after not seeing her for the whole summer. They did exchange owls, but it wasn't the same as having her nearby. Carissa is like a sister to Juliet. She never had one, she only has one older brother, and she intends to keep it that way. Juliet really only needs one that is over protective of her. The Hufflepuff has been very kind to her ever since they met. Juliet was glad that she really got to know someone who was in a different house. She likes to know a variety of people so she can get to know what other people think. That's one of the reasons why Juliet didn't "pick a side." She didn't want to judge people just because of what house they are from, or what "side" they are on. She thinks that there's more to a person than just those two things.
"Hey Rae," Juliet said sitting up and moving her bag so that she has space to sit on the bench. She ran a hand through her hair, fixing any imperfections, if there were any. Juliet looked around the courtyard and saw that there were other students walking about. She was so occupied with her incompetence with Potions. "Oh, just thinking about Potions," Juliet said with a sigh. She hates the subject, and the feeling seems to be mutual.

Rae sat next to her friend once she sat up and moved her bag. She hoped the two of them had enough time to catch up outside before it started to rain. She didn’t remember the paper saying it was going to rain but with the overcast coming in, she was sure enough the beautiful day would be ruined by rain soon enough. During the summer months, Rae didn’t see her friends as much as she wanted too. She babysat most of the summer to have money to spend and took on any job she could. This left her with owling her friends most of the summer so they still remained in contact. Even though Carissa loved to make money it was nice to be back at Hogwarts with all her friends. It was also nice to have schedule again. She had so much down time during the summer months she didn’t know what to do with it. Yes, it was great for the first few weeks but then Rae was looking for things to do instead of sleeping or working the whole day.
With two brothers her own age, Carissa was rarely around other girls growing up. She always had her brother to play with if she got bored and their friends. When she came to Hogwarts she automatically made more female friends than males because she didn’t have her brothers with her all the time, seeing they were sorted in Ravenclaw. For once Rae liked being the older sister to girls younger than herself and having friends who liked the same things she did. She honestly did adore Juliet and just thought she was adorable. And Juliet also was just like her! The Ravenclaw didn’t judge people based on houses and gave everyone a chance. That might have been one of Rae’s favorite qualities about Juliet.
“Still having trouble with Potions?” Rae asked but it sounded more like a statement. She knew that no matter how hard Juliet tried, potions wasn’t her best class. “I’m pretty sure no one except Slytherins are good at Potions.” She said trying to reassure her friend. Carissa had no problem with the class and was taking the NEWT class this year for it and the only reason she was taking it was because it looked good if she wanted to handle dragons. Rae didn’t understand where potions came in except to make an ointment or something in case she got burned. “But how was your summer? It feels like its ages since we've talked face to face." Rae said giving Juliet a one armed hug as she asked her question. It was nice being back at Hogwarts except for all the homework and exams.

Summer was a good time for Juliet to rest from school work. She hung out with her friends at home, the Ravenclaw couldn't really write to them by owl post. They would find it weird, and ask questions about where she actually goes to school. Juliet can't imagine how hard it would to explain to them her everyday life at Hogwarts. Besides that she helped around the house whenever he mum asked her to do something. She had a pretty regular summer. Nothing extraordinary happened during her summer. Her father was way to busy for the family to have a vacation. She didn't mind staying home. Juliet likes staying in doors when she feels like it. But besides that she'll get restless.
Juliet looked down at the floor of the courtyard. "Yup, it's just not my thing." Juliet said shrugging her shoulders. It sucks that no matter how hard she tried she could never get a Potion just right. It's either too bright/dark in color, it's bubbling a bit too much, or it's too hot. Sometimes it was a combination of all three. Sometimes she wanted to give up on Potion, and just not take it all, but she has to. It's part of everyone's curriculum to graduate. Juliet was even surprised that she passed all her O.W.L.s. She did only pass with an A for Potions, though. Juliet smiled, "I guess that's true." It did seem like only the Slytherins were really good at Potions.
Professor Slughorn seems to favor the students who are in his house. She doesn't understand why he does such a thing. Juliet never liked teachers or professors who had favorites, and didn't mind showing that they favored a certain student. One of the reasons that Juliet can not really see herself as a teacher, is because she might end up having favorites. She definitely does not want to be like Professor Slughorn. Juliet isn't even really sure about what she's going to do after Hogwarts. Hopefully she'll find something before her seventh year. Juliet did think about picking a career back in the muggle world. But looking at the way women are treated, she is trying to look for a career in the wizarding world.
"Summer was alright, nothing exciting happened." Juliet replied to Rae's question. "I know, I missed you," Juliet added as she hugged her friend from the side. "How was your summer?" She asked after she broke the hug.

There weren’t too many classes that Rae had trouble with. She was blessed with being pretty knowledgeable in almost every subject. Now don’t get her wrong, she wasn’t amazing at every class. She was just able to pass everything without many problems. There were a few things in her fifth year when she was preparing for her OWLs that she spent time with tutors and extra time with professors to make sure she got right. But there was never something that she didn’t get with enough studying. Carissa didn’t flaunt that she never failed a class instead she did her best to help students that she knew pass the classes they had trouble with. Rae had a ton of patience and always had a smile on her face so she made the perfect tutor. She understood that no matter how hard someone tried that they might just not get a certain subject. With the students she just told them to never give up. Hopefully the professor would see how hard they were trying and would give them a better grade.
“Well only a few more years of it. Then once you graduate no more potions!” Carissa said trying to see the bright side of it. She knew the Ravenclaw still had to finish this year and then the next but she was more than half way done with potions. Just a little more time and Rae was sure it would fly by. “I don’t see why I need to take the class. I want to deal with dragons and I’m still in the potions class.” She said shaking her head laughing. More than anything Rae wanted to one day ride a dragon. Actually more than anything she wanted to raise her own dragon. Yes, her dreams were big and possibly a bit unrealistic but this is what she wanted. She couldn’t help but smile when Juliet started to smile again even though the conversation was still on potions. “Maybe we can disguise you in some Slytherin robes and suddenly you will be amazing at potions.”
“My summer was all right. Didn’t do much except work and keeping my brothers out of trouble.” Rae said laughing a bit. If anything her brothers had to keep her out of trouble when she was with those friends who weren’t the best influences. Her brothers were the same age as her, seeing she was a triplet and both of them were in Ravenclaw. They were definitely smarter than her but she had the bigger social life. However during the summer months since they all worked, they spent most of their free time together. Her brothers were honestly her best friends and some people found that weird. But when you are a triplet there was some sort of special bond that couldn’t be broken easily. She looked up at the sky briefly and it seemed like the storm was coming in faster than she thought. Rae knew they had a few more minutes outside before the rain started. “How are your Prefect duties? Keeping those kids in line?” Rae asked giving the Ravenclaw a wink as she laughed a little bit.

Juliet looked up at the sky and saw that it was covered by dark clouds. The blue sky was completely hidden from her view. The girl really hoped that it won't start raining anytime soon, but it looks like those clouds look like they are ready to let the water come soak whoever was outside. The girl looked around the courtyard again, and saw that people were starting to move back into the castle. Maybe she and Rae should be doing the same thing. Juliet doesn't want to get soaked by the rain. She only likes the pitter patter of rain on a window. She also likes the smell of the air after it has rained. Those two things are the only things that she likes about rain. She never really met anyone that really liked to be soaked by the rain.
"Just one more year." Juliet said correcting Rae. Juliet just needs to endure Potions for one more year, and she'll finally be rid of it! Hopefully she'll find a career where she won't have to make or brew potions ever again. She can sure remember the names and colors of the important potions, if she needed to.
But Juliet isn't even sure what career path she wants to choose. She could be a healer, but would that mean constant potions brewing? She could be an auror, Juliet is good at defense against the dark arts, but would she be emotionally stable enough to constantly catch dark wizards? She could also work for the Ministry, but she's not sure if they would accept a muggleborn into the Ministry. She's not even sure if there are muggleborn witches or wizards working there right now. "You want to work with dragons? That's so cool!" Juliet replied to Rae's comment about potions, and why she still has to take it. Well, if the dragon gets sick, wouldn't you need to know what to brew for him/her?" Juliet asked Rae. It's possible that dragons need a proper potion to feel better.
Juliet couldn't help but let out a chuckle at Rae's joke. Maybe she would be magically good at potions if she wore the Slytherin robe. "That sounds like a good idea." Juliet said with a smile on her face. It probably is possible, but Juliet doubt that can happen. But then again Hogwarts is a school of magic, so maybe it can. The thought is just so silly that Juliet does doubt that it will work. It's just like one of those urbanmyths that she hears about. A lot of myths are never proven statements.
Juliet listened as Rae talked about her busy summer. She was paying attention to her until she heard a roll of thunder fill the air. Juliet looked up and saw a flash of lightning light up the sky. The girl was about to answer Rae's question until the rain started pouring down on them. Juliet grabbed her bag and shielded it with her robe. Juliet felt the water soaking her hair and through her robes. "We should head back to the castle!" Juliet shouted over the thunder. Hopefully her friend heard her.
